The first Pilates Platinum opened in Los Angeles in 2006. In turning to Pilates to rehab from a dance injury, Heather Dorak was so blown away by the results that she dropped out of UCLA to open her first studio. At the time, boutique fitness wasn’t really a thing and pilates was mostly an expensive 1-on-1 experience. Heather wanted to bring the workout to more people so she opened one of the first group Pilates studios. The first studio was in Hollywood. The phenomenon caught on very quickly, prompting her to open studios in Brentwood, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica. Celebs and the press soon found the workout and the rest is history. Heather and her sister, Sarah Garza, have since opened locations in the great state of Texas in Alamo Heights and Stone Oak. Additional Texas studios will be opening in New Braunfels, Alamo Ranch, and Dominion.
